Science Never Proves Anything
The next turn in the road can reveal something that disproves any theory. However, one clear case of failure can prove that a generally useful theory is nevertheless wrong. That means that science is always trying to find the places where theory does not correspond to reality, and then science attempts to modify the theory so that it no longer fails.
